The Winner's Transformation

The arrival

Our Ponte Coqueta winner, Rosana Núñez, from San Antonio, Texas arrived at the Rocco Donna beauty salon in Miami Beach where she received her beauty consultation. Here we see an emotional Rosana meeting the prestigious stylist Leonardo Rocco.

The 'before' image

Here's how Rosana looked before the beauty consultation. She had her hair cut less than one month ago in search of a change. The only thing she had on her face was a little bit of concealer.

The decision

Leonardo Rocco and Rosana agreed that the best color for her was an "intense chocolate" color, two or three shades darker from her current color. This would combine with her natural color, resulting in a nice, even color; nothing too drastic, just mixing with the color of chocolate.

The perfect mix

Once the color was decided upon, they prepared the mix for the hair color while Rosana prepared herself for the change.

Applying the color

Leonardo starts by applying the color to Rosana's hair. Meanwhile, Rosana is watching the television and commenting on the styles of the dresses that are shown on Fashion TV.

Cover everything

It was important to cover the entire hair and also to cover the previous highlights that Rosana had in order to make the color uniform. For this, they prepared a mix that added pigment to the areas that needed more color.

Blended highlights

The idea was to blend the colors with the rest of the hair so that it would not look artificial, the idea was to achieve a natural look. The highlights were applied with the same tone so the end result would be soft and natural.

After waiting ...

After the application of the color and highlights, she waited for 30 minutes. Here we see Mario Antón, Leonardo's assistant, massaging Rosana's head in order to make all of the colors mix and are even.

A spa: For what ?

Mario's massage was long enough, and it reminded us of a trip to the spa . He told us that the massage was ten minutes, but undoubtedly it was more ... Rosana closed her eyes and relaxed.

Expert in eyebrows

Luis Rivera was the expert in forming the eyebrows. He told us that the style he would give Rosana would completely change her face "like plastic surgery." "Just like the frame of a picture, the eyebrows are the frame of the face," Luis explained to us and added that Rosana had a lot of potential.

Fresh image

Luis applied a topical anethetic and he told us that sometimes he does 10 sets of eyebrows a day. His goal is to give them a form that women can't do by themselves but can be imitated. "The excess hair on the eyebrows can appear as wrinkles; the skin doesn't look fresh and can make the eye look closed. He only used tweezers and said the maintenance would be minimal.

And now what?

Rosana already had her face "framed" and she had never had her eyebrows done before. Now it has left her looking and feeling very enthusiastic. Now she prepares herself for Leonardo to style her hair.

Tools of the trade

What will they use for Rosana's hair? The winner was feeling a little bad because she had her hair cut days before finding out she won the contest, but she was confident in Leonardo's plan.

The cut

"It will be a spectacular cut", affirmed Leonardo, at the same time he explained that he wouldn't take much length off because it was already short, but he would remove the volume of it because Rosana had a lot of hair.

Removing the volume

Here Leonardo Rocco is using a technique to remove the volume, which was something Rosana was hoping for. Even though she had just cut her hair, there was still a lot of quanitity left in her hair.

Here comes the blowdryer

After cutting her hair and washing it again, Leo proceeded to blowdry it. After drying her hair, he cut a little bit more; he was "styling and personalizing the cut", he explained. Rosana was ready for her makeup, but later Leo would be ready to give her the final touch.

The makeup

Here we see the brushes, many of which would be used to apply Rosana's makeup. The concealer, the base, the powder, and the different shades would all be applied with brushes.

Here comes the color

Mariela Bagnato was in charge of Rosana's makeup. She applied a liquid base with a brush, and she told us that this technique helped better distribute and prevents the product from settling in the pores. She also applied the concealer and the translucent powder with a brush.

Making the outline

Mariela used a darker-toned powder to outline the face and to refine the areas around her nose and neck. Her well-formed eyebrows are really evident here. Mariela applied a clear shade to illuminate, and a bronze shade on the rest of her lid.

Eyeliner

She used a dark eyeliner inside her eye and a little bit outside the eye as well. Then she applied a shade on top of it to create an effect and frame the eye; this would also prevent it from running.

Depth

Mariela used a shade of "coffee" to make her eyes more profound and create depth. She then added illuminator again (light tone) to give a touch of light and to touch up what could have been covered with the darker shades. She also applied a transparent shade to her eyebrows to frame them a bit more and prevent the hair from going awry.

The eyelashes

The eyelashes fulfill a very important function. They open the eye, and make us seem very flirty. Since it's possible that the shades can "clump" the eyelashes, Mariela used the mascara of below up and vice versa. Then she did the bottom eyelashes.

The lips

Since the desired look is a natural one and we want to call attention more with the eyes than with the lips, Mariela decides on a sheen color, but avoids using a lipliner. "We want a fresh image ... in this case we worked with the eyes quite a bit", therefore most of the attention will go toward the eyes.

Color on the cheeks

In a preview of Rosana, we notice the blush more of a suntan color than a bright one. Also an illuminating powder was applied to add sheen so that the skin was seeming more healthy, with a "glow", Mariela explained to us.

The final touch

Leonardo Rocco used only his hands to give the final touch to Rosana's hair. The look turned out to be very fresh, and Rosana said to us "it is clear that this was done with love and with passion".

"I feel cute and flirty, before I didn't enjoy having my photos taken ... but I feel like another woman ", confessed Rosana Núñez. "This was an extreme makeover ", she added.

The big 'after'

Rosana told us that she felt like a moviestar and she was extremely satisfied by the result. She felt her self-esteem increased, and that she had asked for this change, and it was given to her.
